The Reichard Scholarship

Dr. Reichard has dedicated more than 50 years of his life to education and ministry, faithfully pouring his heart into the families of our communities. One of his desires is to see young people become the young men and women God created them to be.

​Scholarship Guidelines

 

The Reichard Scholarship
Award Amount: $500

 

Purpose

​

The Reichard Scholarship is designed to encourage and support students who have faced challenges that placed them at risk of engaging in risky behaviors, but who have demonstrated resilience, growth, and a commitment to pursuing higher education or skilled trades. The $500 award may be used toward tuition, books, or supplies at a college, university, or trade school of the recipient’s choice.

 

 

​Eligibility Requirements

​

Applicants must:

  1. Be a graduating high school senior or current GED recipient.

  2. Have been identified as at-risk of engaging in risky behaviors (such as substance use, truancy, or other challenges), but who have shown positive steps toward making better choices.

  3. Plan to enroll full-time or part-time in an accredited college, university, or trade/technical school within 12 months of award notification.

  4. Submit all required application materials by the stated deadline.

 

Application Requirements

A complete application must include:

  1. Completed Application Form (access below).

  2. Personal Statement (500–750 words) addressing the following:

    • Your personal challenges and how you worked to overcome them.

    • How you avoid or manage risky behaviors today.

    • Your educational and career goals.

    • How this scholarship will help you achieve your goals.

  3. One Letter of Recommendation from a teacher, pastor, counselor, mentor, or community leader who can speak to your growth and commitment to success.

  4. Proof of Acceptance into a college, university, or trade school program.

 

Selection Criteria

Applications will be reviewed and evaluated based on:

  • Demonstrated resilience and personal growth.

  • Commitment to avoiding risky behaviors.

  • Clarity of educational and career goals.

  • Strength of recommendation.

 

Award Details

​

  • One-time $500 scholarship.

  • Scholarship may only be used for tuition, textbooks, or educational supplies.

 

Application Deadline

​

  • Applications must be submitted via email by March 31.

  • Complete applications can be emailed to info@bearyouthawareness.com

  • Award recipient will be notified by May 31.
