Workshops

The Parent Workshop on Hidden Dangers and the Youth Mental Health Awareness Event were hosted at a church in our neighboring community of Madison Heights, Virginia. The events featured guest speakers including local pastors, representatives from Horizon Health, and professionals actively working within the mental health field. Parents received empowering messages centered on strength, encouragement, and hope.

 

Representatives from Horizon Health delivered Hidden in Plain Sight, an informative presentation that included a guided walk-through of a mock bedroom designed to help parents recognize potential warning signs indicating a teen may need support. At the Youth Mental Health Awareness Event, certified counselors facilitated a question-and-answer session, offering thoughtful guidance and practical advice to parents seeking ways to better support their children.

 

Complimentary lunches were provided, allowing families the opportunity to connect with one another in a supportive environment.

 

Each attendee received a complimentary copy of Age of Opportunity: A Biblical Guide to Parenting Teens (Revised) by Paul David Tripp, along with additional resources provided by our professional partners.
